Mango Treats
A tangy spicy chutney prepared in south Indian homes using raw mango as the main ingredient, that goes perfectly with chapatis, dosas, idlis, and even rice
Ingredients
Mango 1 no
Jaggery 3 tbsp
Salt to taste
Green chillies 15 - 18 no
Hing/ asaefotodia a pinch
Turmeric 1/2 tsp
Oil 1tsp
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves a few
Freshly chopped coriander
Method
Peel the skin of raw mango and finely chop it
In a mixer jar, add the finely chopped mango, salt, jaggery, green chillies, hing, turmeric ( optional) and grind it without adding water
( Note: Texture of the chutney comes out better when grinded in a grinder than a mixer)
Add finely chopped coriander and grind it further
For seasoning, add oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves and fry
Add it into the chutney and mango chutney is ready to eat
