In this series of video logs from our most recent trip to Costa Rica we follow Chris Burton and the gang as they enjoy another sun drenched trip to Santa Teresa The crew were picked up from the airport and taken to the hotel to relax. This quaint little suburb Alajuela sets you up nicely for the Central American lifestyle with a chilled out and laid back market square to soak up the atmosphere and an array of different shops to purchase those last minute bits and pieces before heading to the coast. It also gave us our first chance to sample the delicious Costa Rican cuisine in the many restaurants and cafes. The following morning we drove to the west coast on a fantastic journey across the country. We enjoy a tea hour ferry ride before landing at our accommodation the first sunset free surf was the perfect tonic for the troops. An early start ensures zero crowds and no wind so the group scored more than their fair share of warm water perfection before breakfast. After another morning of great waves the crew head in land and trek through the jungle to find an 80ft waterfall. The perfect place to cool off and soak up the scenery. Now let’s take a better look at the accommodation with its spacious living quarters, comfortable bungalows, swimming pool, and its own yoga studio. This surf camp style jungle lodge really is the perfect place to chill after a long day in the waves. There is always the chance too to spot a troop of howler monkeys passing through which is always an added bonus. Costa Rica prides itself on being the most eco friendly country in the world. The question is, what can we as travelling bodyboarders do to help? We catch up with Bodyboard Holidays very own Matt ‘Mave’ Davies and he shares some useful ideas. The final video log sees a round up of the weeks goings on and we hear from some of the guests themselves about their experience with Bodyboard-Holidays on our trip to Costa Rica.
