@slim_streamslast year Legitimately I think this movie has one of the best plots. The idea of a kid getting revenge on all his bullies in over the top ways since he's moving away? So cool 54

@notaplainjane2108X3 years ago Max getting Troy sent to therapy honestly is probably the best thing to happen to him ... The trauma was causing him to be a bully... This will help him through his trauma and make his and everyone around him lives better. 52

  • @
@craigyeah1052last year This move is so iconic. It's villains are so great, the principal is irredeemably evil, and it's always nice to have a one-sided easy to hate villain getting slammed. The bullies and ice cream man are stereotypical and comically evil at first but they get just enough backstory to be humanized, so that Max does start to feel a little villainous, even if they do deserve what they get. Megan and Robe fill their roles so perfectly, it's like, everyone is simple but it allows the film to be so easy to watch, to convey what it wants to. This isn't a movie I watched often as a kid, but I remember it so clearly. ... 17

@spikeeyestudios2 years ago One thing that I always thought about when I saw this movie was “wait what about the paper he had to write and turn in on the Friday he was going to move? Did he ever write it?” I can just imagine the movie ending with the teacher saying “Max do you have the paper I assigned to you?” and then Max looks at the camera with a look of “Oh no” then it ends there ... 10

@ZBixby3 years ago I think there was a part of a lot of us as kids, especially those of us who may have been picked on more, to have been able to do what Max did. Or at least we all took the time to imagine what we would do if we could tell everyone off with no consequences, it's definitely why it was always one of my favorites. ... 91
  • @
@ThierryWilliamson3 years ago This is a movie that has always stayed in my mind after seeing it for a few reasons. One, it was just a fun movie, but the others include the fact that FUCKING FROG was understandably creepy when one is younger (and that song IS catchy, it's still stuck in my head word for word), and also that ending, now that I think about it, is just the ending to the Street Fighter II anime... anyway, was fun to see you talk about it, and it's impressive how much I remember about this movie, despite not seeing it for more than a decade and a half.
(Also, for some reason, that scene with Tony Hawk being shot by ice cream ALWAYS made younger me feel bad lmao)

@starylize3 years ago i've barely started the video but i just want to say thank you so much for making this. i loved this movie growing up and even as a 20-year-old, i quote the principal jokingly and yell "cease!" whenever my friends and i are goofing off. i have no idea if they get the reference lol. this movie was my jam growing up as a kid, and i always looked forward to when disney would randomly have it on as a re-run. it's one of those perfect summer movies you watch in elementary school that never gets old. i've not seen in since the 2000s and i'm imagining if i rewatched it now it would suck but it's just nice to know that this ancient piece of disney media was forgotten lol! ... 9

@zacharybartolo51113 years ago Oh this was a movie I LOVED as a kid! Any time it was on I watched it. It was like Home Alone meets Big Fat Liar, it was kids vs adults, the bullied vs the bullies, and living out the childish fantasy of doing whatever the hell you wanted and getting away with it. This movie may not be Oscar worthy, but it's fun and worthy to be watched by any kid. ... 3

It is most kids' dream of standing up to bullies and the hilarious hijinks that take place. ... 30

@PokeDude0113 years ago This movie stayed with me for a while and all I remember of it was evil ice cream man, bully traumatized by furry, "I WANT MY HAND HELD", and Josh Peck. Like I forgot the name of this movie until this video. I also remember when I was finished watching it I played Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness where I was in the final area of the game for the first time pushing blocks to stop the lava flow and snagging a Shadow Macargo.
Can't tell if my good memories of this movie come from my enjoyment of it or me finding that final area of Pokemon XD really cool.

@rocsiali40923 years ago Shout out to all the janitors out there, cleaning messes that they shouldn't have to because some kids, teens, and adults would rather spit dip in the water fountain, leave used period pads on the bathroom floor, litter next to the trash can, etc....
On top of that, shout out to the body fluid disposers in medical facilities, water waste plant workers, and garbage truck workers. A lot of you have seen some dark shit. Literally and metaphorically.
You help run society in such a foundational way.
    Thank you.

seriously i've had one hell of a journey throughout this review. With every second that passed, more and more of an ancient memory was unburying itself. The plot, lines of dialogue, the weird cartoony stuff. It's amazing that I remember this movie as well as I do, despite forgetting everything about it. Yes I realize that sentence doesn't make sense but how do you think I feel?

@92Raider-artlast year Man hearing you talking about moving places as a kid. Just brought back a great moment for me. Our family was going to move and so was one of my childhood friends Nick and his family. All of my friends stood on a hill at a sunny day and talked about how we felt about moving, and we promised eachother that we would buy eachother Transformers Armada figures as a gift to remember eachother by. It was a silly thing but I will never forget that day as long as I live. It was straight out of a movie. We all knew that a whole decade of friendship would be very much a memory from this day on. It was a sad but very touching scene from my life ... 1
