What Sugar Does to Your Body (AND HOW TO GET OFF SUGAR)

Health Chronicle Talks about how sugar is not so good for us and what it does to your body. Most common reason we assume is that it raises glucose levels in our blood and causes diabetes. But what if you don't have diabetes in your family. Is sugar good for you then? Turns out not so much. Sugar is not as healthy as it seems. This is because sugar contains a whole bunch of calories with NO essential nutrients. For this reason, they are called "empty" calories. There are no proteins, essential fats, vitamins or minerals in sugar... just pure energy. When people eat up to 10-20% of calories as sugar (or more), this can become a major problem and contribute to nutrient deficiencies. Sugar is also not good for the teeth, because it provides easily digestible energy for the bacteria in the mouth. When fructose get turned into fats in the liver, it is shipped out as VLDL cholesterol particles. However, not all of the fats gets out, some of it can lodge in the liver. This can lead to Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD), a growing problem in Western countries that is strongly associated with metabolic diseases.
