Sensitivity testing the BTech UV-25X4 with a Ramsey Com3 service monitor, and my impression of the radio after using it for several weeks, including a cross state trip. While the sensitivity of the radio is just fine, and gets better with increase in frequency, the squelch action is not great. It seems to require more than full quieting to get the squelch to open. This leads to adjusting the squelch a lot. Also the radio suffers from intermod in urban areas, and the scan speed is terribly slow. For the price, and considering that the radio has 1.25m capability, I would still buy it again, but I hope BTech fixes the squelch, or the team at Chirp figures out a workaround.
