Academics continue push for Australia to be ‘absolutely blanketed’ in wind and solar farms

The push for renewables is “just the beginning” as academics call for hundreds and thousands of hectares of wind turbines and solar farms to blanket the country, Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says. “Really this is just the beginning … a recent report put out this year by some academics calling themselves the Net-zero Australia Group shows how much of our landscape will be defaced,” Mr Canavan told Sky News contributor Steve Price. “Going to be a total of well over 100,000 hectares, apparently an area the size of half of Victoria. “They want it to happen. “With vast waves of our continent absolutely blanketed with wind turbines and solar panels.”
