During an overhyped interview with Florida governor Ron DeSantis, Fox News host Brian Kilmeade talked about how the media relentlessly attacks DeSantis, to which DeSantis replied that you know they like you when they make fun of you. That might be true of workplace buddies, but in the world of politics, DeSantis is being mocked because he's such an oppressive tyrant, not because anyone actually loves him. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains why DeSantis is living in a land of make believe. Over the weekend, Fox News aired an interview, an exclusive one-on-one, they called it with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Fox News host Brian Kil Mead. And during one very weird, borderline delusional part of this interview that for some reason was filmed on a little league baseball field, Ron DeSantis said that all those people out there in the country making fun of him, they actually really love him. And you can tell that because they're making fun of him. So, so here is Ron DeSantis trying to rationalize all the hatred that he receives from around the country. Here it is. Locker room gets you ready for the press, right? Because your teammates, if they like you a lot, they rip you all the time. The way you know that people like, like you is if they're making fun of you. So you really have concluded the press really likes you because they're always ripping you. Again, not sure why they're doing that interview on a little league baseball field. Um, I, I would assume Ron DeSantis has access to office space. I mean, they could have done it inside the governor's mansion, but little League baseball field, sure. I, I guess that totally makes sense for whatever the hell it is they were trying to prove there. But as for the the talking point, there're like, oh, they only criticize me. You know, because that's how you know they like me. If you're in an office setting or if you're hanging around with your good buddies, yeah, everybody kinda rips on one another. It's because you're friends and you do that. But Ron, that's not what's happening with you. Do you genuinely think that all of your critics, myself included, are only ribbon on you because we like you so much, we're just giving you a hard time each and every day because you're one of the boys? No, we genuinely hate you. We hate your policies. We hate your personality. We hate your arrogance. We hate your oppressive tendencies. We don't like anything about you never have, never will. We are terrified of not only what you've done to the state of Florida, but what you're also planning to do to the entire country with your Make America Florida campaign. And here's the thing, Fox News gave him all of this airtime, this exclusive one-on-one with Governor Ron DeSantis. The guy goes on your network all the time. Like I don't get how that's an exclusive one-on-one because you have one-on-ones with him every single week. Fox News is very clearly pushing Ron DeSantis as their pick for 2024. Something that, by the way, just a couple weeks ago, Donald Trump himself pointed out he's not wrong about that. They're giving him these little softball interviews, which I guess, hey, maybe that's why they're on the little league field, because they wanna show everybody how much of a softball interview this is. They just hope everybody's able to put that imagery together with what's actually happening. So I guess in that regard, it totally makes sense. You give him a softball interview, you want to do it on a baseball field so people can put two and two together. Very clever Fox News. I don't think Ron DeSantis himself was able to pick up on that, however. But if he truly believes that all of these people out there, all of the critics in in the liberal media, all of the critics in the corporate media, if he thinks we all secretly love him, then he may be living in a fantasy world that's even more divorced from reality than the one that Donald Trump himself is living in.
