Accident Review of the "Gold Plane" carrying the Wichita State University / WSU Shocker's Football Team. This is "College Football's Forgotten Tragedy" as the WSU crash was eclipsed by the Marshall Football Team's Crash due in part to the movie; "We Are Marshall". The Martin 404 was piloted by First Officer Ronald Skipper who was ACTING as PIC on this "Scenic Tour" and "Co-Piloted" by Dan Crocker, who was "Type-Rated" on the Martin 404, whereas Ron Skipper was not. Dan Crocker took the controls after Ron Skippper apparently banked too steeply in an attempt to perform a course reversal. This was a valiant effort on Dan Crocker's part, however at the slow speed they were traveling for the "Sight Seeing Tour", the aircraft stalled. The slow speed and trees at initial impact most likely attributed to the number of survivors of the crash. MUSIC: YouTube Attribution not required
