On G20 sidelines, PM Modi, Xi Jinping & Vladimir Putin hold meeting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with the Presidents of China and Russia on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Japan's Osaka. PM Modi spoke about countering terror and multilateralism, among other issues. Russia's Vladimir Putin spoke against 'protectionism' while China's Xi Jinping sought deeper talks with India and Russia on the economic situation. Delhi and Beijing are currently locked in a tariff battle with Washington. US President Donald Trump has also been accused of undermining multi-lateral fora and institutions.
